This paper questions the approaches to prevention of academic dishonesty and strategies of teaching ethics of scientific research to students. It is necessary to base the construction of academic integrity on students’ sensibilization for ethical issues and on the development of moral reasoning and acting abilities as a stronghold of autonomy and responsibility, and not just on formal knowledge about scientific ethics as a discipline.
